Financial education

The world likes to overcomplicate personal finance. My goal is to simplify it.

My money story

When I graduated from college, I realized quickly that I knew almost nothing about personal finance.

I made a lot of mistakes early on:

  • Spending more than I earned — without realizing it

  • Opening a store card without understanding the credit impact

  • Trying to time the stock market (buying high, selling low)

  • Many others …

And I wasn’t alone. Most of us move through life without the knowledge, skills, or habits needed to manage money well —largely because we were never taught.

So I decided to learn.

I dove deep into personal finance. I built systems that worked and made decisions aligned with my values. Within two years, I was saving over 50% of my income and had doubled my net worth.

That curiosity turned into a career. At a fintech company, I designed tools that helped over 1 million people save money and build credit. I also conducted research with over 7,500 individuals to better understand how people think about money, and I created educational content reaching 50,000 people.

Through that work, I saw personal finance from both a systems level and a human level — and what truly helps people make progress.

Today, I bring that experience into my work as a financial coach. I’m currently pursuing the Accredited Financial Counselor® certification, which requires:

  • 1,000 hours of financial counseling experience

  • Passing a comprehensive exam

  • Adherence to a strict code of ethics
